Ameraucanas....what color are these?

These are ameraucana chicks hatched out 2 days ago. I purchased the eggs from a farm in NC. They are from wheaten, blue wheaten, and "true blue wheaten" stock. Im not sure what the last is.

Anybody care to guess color?

Those aren't Ameraucanas nor Wheaten or Blue Wheaten. They're Easter Eggers, and indeed will grow to what many people think Wheaten looks like, but it isn't. It is more of a BBR/Duckwing type color. Sorry. They'll still probably lay colored eggs though.

I do not plan on showing, but hoped to purchase really good stock for my little flock. You would not believe how much I spent on these 6 eggs. Duped.

Thanks...oh well, lesson learned.

Anyone have ideas on a good breeder I could get eggs from on here?

Those are some very very cute chicks. You'll be really happy with them. Just spend some time touching those fluffy cheeks. My girls love our EEs, and EE are very similar to Ameraucana other than the coloring. Usually EEs have the fluffy cheeks and the pretty green legs, and lay pretty eggs too (though some can be green and tan instead of blue, which actually makes for a very pretty egg basket of colors!). For some really pretty Ameraucana eggs, I also recommend Whitmore Farms. I ordered twice from them and the eggs are huge and very blue. I also ordered 75 chicks from Paul Smith and John Blehm from the Ameraucana club. And now I just have to wait for all those cuties to start laying eggs. In the meantime I'm enjoying their cuteness though. Your chicks are adorable too. Since you don't plan on showing them, don't worry about them not being Ameraucana. If you plan to sell their eggs as hatching-eggs, you might want to get some Ameraucana also, if you'll have 2 separate pens to keep the breeds separate.

And yes, I will love these chickens just the same as if they were "top of the line" - just would have been nice if they had been as represented!
