Ameraucanas

If they cannot tell you what colour varieties they sold you then they are EEs, someone with real ameraucanas can tell you the exact colour varieties! SO if they answer - multi coloured etc then thats a dead give away on them being EEs.

The whites ones may be packing peanuts or replacements too if they didnt hatch enough.

what is this

Hello and
welcome-byc.gif
from Western NC! PM me with any questions you have! What did the person/store you bought them from say they were? Ameraucanas? Can you post some pictures of them?

Clues that they're EE's, (from the hatchery's website...):

"known for its ablility to lay green eggs" A true Ameraucana lays a BLUE egg.

They don't list a color. Ameraucana are one of 8 colors.

They're a hatchery...

It's not too bad if you're just looking for colored eggs. You paid EE prices for them, Ameraucana are much more expensive. You should still get pretty eggs from them

Will EE's get along with my Buff girl's

They should get along just fine. Are your buff girls adults? When your babies are big enough to transition over to the big pen, there could be some scuffles as they all adjust, but once they get those kinks worked out, they'll be fine.

If I could only keep one kind of chicken, it'd be Easter Eggers. They're so much fun.

It's not what I wanted and he told me face to face they were Ameraucana.

Part of the problem is that when you buy EE from a feed store or most mail order chick sites, they're labeled "Ameraucana" even though they really aren't.

So, it's entirely possible your breeder thought they were "true" ameracaunas because that's how they were labeled when he bought them.

If you want true ameraucanas, I'd suggest you return them to who you bought them from, and buy hatching eggs from someone on this site. They'll be much more trustworthy as a general rule, and be more educated as to what an ameraucana is.
