American(Buff, Blue, Lavander,etc.)goose thread! Post pics!

Miss Lydia the out break was in Christian county that's were I live it was a broiler breeder place. To close for comfort . I made a new pen for the one group of ducks and ran hot wire on the bottom and mid way up an I am using a solar charger. I am in the process of replacing fences and hot wiring the whole area. So far so good. I found 2 goose eggs in the goose house I have 6 eggs that I am going to incubate. now 2 of the eggs are dirty they were from yester day and day before we have been getting bad storms.how do I clean them or should I not use them? I am do to get goslings from holderread will this flu thing cause problems . thanks.

I'd call Holderread and ask if there is a problem if you meaning them sending into your state. But that doesn't give any of us back yard enthusiast any peace if we're close. As for cleaning just take a dry paper towel and get off as much dirt as possible. When we leave it up to our birds to hatch with out interference from us they manage to hatch dirty poopy eggs just fine. lol

Of course it is always in the factory farms where this stuff starts. Hopefully with all everyone is doing they will get this stuff contained but until they do away with forcing chickens or any other kind of animals to live like they do in these places bird flu will always be here. Just my 2 cents. which isn't much .
 
I will e mail holderread thay are pretty good about getting back to me. I am going to let Wilma sit on the rest. I just wanted to take precaution that the others might get eaten or destroyed. I am hoping to get at least 1 girl that will be mickey's mate he is a buff but I don't care as long as he is happy. well your 2 cents is good enough for me.

Aww that would be nice to let Wilma sit on some eggs. they make such good moms.

Let us know what Holderreads says. When is shipping date?

I'm trying to figure out if I have a male and female, the other is a saddleback..their back ends r different..the buff in the pic has one side that droops slightly lower and flabbier than other side...where my saddleback has an under side that is tucked higher and two even flaps...here is a pic of saddleback...can't catch he/she walk in right now
