I'm glad there are grey Americans. I'm thinking I have to try out all the colors -- would be fun to see them all in a flock

I am noticing now that the cream goslings are lighter than the parents -- so it will be nice to watch them to see how they develop. If it turns out to be a pair, will they just produce cream offspring?

Next year maybe I'll look for some grey and blues . . .

Celtic I sure am enjoying the 3 of them. But that grey gander is a jumping boy! So you got Houdini sp? from me and I get Jumpin Jack Flash from you!

I have not picked names yet for them. My brain is just not working yet. I still have not named the three I kept back to grow out... The grey gander would jump out of the container as soon as I put him back in. Then run to my feet and look for food and water. Like I can not wait I want it NOW!

I have been thinking about names for the buff girls. Toffee and Butterscotch. Not sure though.???
On my grey saddleback girls been playing around with G names because mom is Gloria. Thinking Glenda and Genna..?? Not sure if the gosling from Hanna (grey sb) and Nikki (lavender) of what the color or sex is at this time.

Thanks! That was interesting. You would think there would be plenty of them around if breeding blue to blue produces 25% grey.

Something I intend to work on. I like all the colors!

This my first time with geese. They are so adorable and sweet I have to say the chicks we got this year aren't as tame as they could be. We spent all our bird holding time with the geese! Covering our chests with a towel for protection from the inevitable poop, we let them sleep on us. They snuggled in my hair and nibbled my ears. I was charmed from the start!



I just realized that I lost all my baby goose pictures and videos in a recent iPhone accident

This one was on facebook. I love how when you call them they come running with their wings out. And at first they were such stubby silly wings!

This is them now, I posted this in another thread.



So sweet! I do hope we have a boy and girl.

Haha yes I know! I have 3. 10 week old imprinted Pekins females . Although when I brooded them I did it in a heated barn w 15 other chickens . Since there's just 2 of these girls I'm just keeping them in my house - much closer but I hear the whining to " mama pick me upppp " more haha so I feel bad and they get looooootsa snuggles and attention . Haha I'm totally fin being a duck mama AND a goose mama haha

Congrats! I miss the tiny fuzzy stage. Mine are feathered out now and look like adults just smaller.
