no a dewlap is not bumps or fatty tumors its the extra skin and some fat from the bird

your goose has bumps not a dewlap.

The delap is what is craved for in heavy weight show birds.

if i want boy babies i use my dewlap male for show quality male babies

if i want show quality girl babies i use my slimer more feminein looking male with my top show quality female

this gets me the best show quality gosling to sell , even though id rather keep them all

Oops !!! Sorry. In my excitement over buff goose guy's unexpected declaration, I knocked my soda over and was barely able to snatch up my laptop before it became
a sticky mess.

Well, I have a friend from work coming over for dinner tonight (she just LOVES my manacotti), and I told her that the only way she could get me to make that much of a mess in my kitchen and then not help me clean up, was for her to help me out with Gus. To my amazement, she said OK !!! Our plan is to try and calmly restrain him
enough so that she can aspirate those bad boys and see what (if anything) they might be. Before I get chastised, criticized or in any way censured, I guess I should add that my friend is a surgical nurse with aspirations of one day becoming a surgical NP, so she is more than capable of performing a minor needle biopsy on my goose.
Anyway, it should be fun. Not really...just kidding...I've been a nervous nellie since I woke up this morning. That's probably why I toppled over my soda...shaky hands. Thank goodness I'm not performing this one. My only hope would be that we wouldn't have to give Gus a sedative beforehand, because if we did, that'd mean there'd be less left for me...lol !!! I just hope I don't faint or something...lol !!! It's always different when it's one of your own, ya know.

I'll let you know what we find.
Thank You Everyone for your help and suggestions. I really do appreciate it.

Gosh I do to Kim but how will you both know what your looking at if there is fluid in there? Do you also know some one who works at a lab who will look at it under a magnifying glass?

My American Buff hen is stayed in her nest this evening, I think she is officially broody! I am super excited, this is my first broody goose! I cannot wait for babies!

Danyelle has informed me that there is a second nest next to the first. Guess they feel its a safe place to lay. Geese apparently CAN NOT count, as Danyelle has been stealing all eggs and leaving a sole wooden next egg.

Getting a pair of Buff geese. Any input needed, do they need to be pinned your will the stay on my property? I live on 15 acres. How noisy are they?

They will need to know where home is,so penned for at least a week or 2, and they will need protection from predators or you won't have them long, A safe house for night time sleeping . My only Buff is female and during breeding season can get just as loud as my other 3 but nothing compared to my 2 ganders, they could break glass.

Pic when you get them please.
