She’s on a cable. She couldn’t get them. One of them got about 2 feet away from her.

I’m pretty much washed out on the trapping front here...

I’ll probably spring what I have out in the morning as I check them and then wait for things to dry up...

found a nice big shed antler yesterday... went back today and found the other side about 25 yards away from where the first one was

I found some good beaver sets and a few muskrat huts I may set but I’m still in duck hunting mode and I’m getting too old to do it all in one day. I used to but man hunting then checking traps then coming home to 2 crazy pups doesn’t leave a lot of time for much else let alone putting up fur. We’ll see all of it requires waders and a boat which is kind of a pain.

I want to see some more duck hunt stuff!

I’m juggling irons and fires and weather too...

I’m up on the nest robber catch, but nothing else...

When I was younger I came up against access to good ground first with still gas in the tank... this year I’m loosing motivation, with unset ground still ...

Just too much going on and the weather has been making mud slop...

But it was clear and windy today/tonight with the yard deer coming in a hour early... so I’m thinking a cat in the morning... but you know how it is ... trapping is 50/50 blind optimism/earned pragmatism...

The worst part for me is the mud out hit right when my sets we’re talking to me... so my gut says ‘x’ many sets are duds, pull them and remake... but every thing is so sloppy ... and more rain coming... that I talk myself out of getting after it...

My buddy has been chasing farm equipment this week as part of the annual ‘spend it or give it to the taxman’ dance... but we might get after more beavers if he’s not too demoralized, lol

I’m looking for a pic of your boy’s first duck bird.... how old till he gets to light the cannon?

man, I always wanted ticked beagles... I remember reading/seeing pics in magazines of blue or red ticked rabbit hounds and thinking they were the cats meow...

i had lemon beagle once that was such an eye catcher that someone was kind enough to steal him ... other than that it’s pretty much all run of the mill tri-color Snoopy dogs here

beagles and kids are a good combination, hard to beat

I hear ya. The weather has been ridiculous. Everything froze up pushing a lot of birds south then finally warmed up and thawed everything but I’ve about run out of time. There’s seems to be some more geese showing up but clearly a lack of ducks around. The few weary black ducks, a few pintails and a couple mallards. I keep shifting my position but hunting public marshes comes with a host of jack*sses that screw everything up. The next bastard that sets up close to me is gonna get butt stroked with the shotgun right in the mouth.
