Oh I would just put the cords out in the yard and put them on them. I wouldn’t worry about attaching it to their leg while in a pen to get them used to it.Thanks! They are asils. They were supposed to take turns free ranging, but I can never get them back into their pens at the end of the day, so I got the tie cords. I only put the tie cord on one of them tonight, inside the pen, and he keeps trying to peck at it and take it off.
They will peck at them at first for a little while. If it’s the cinch type nylon hitch just make sure you pull it tight to their legs.
