Have any of you guys used feather fixer to speed up the molt of your birds? I have used feather fixer, but the hen didn’t feather in any faster than normal. I think it’s just a marketing ploy.

Gimmick along with everything else geared toward people with a couple laying hens. Overpriced BS. Everything that worked years ago still works. Alcohol, peroxide, betadine, blue kote etc..
Why do you want to speed up their molt? You running a commercial operation and trying to get as many eggs out of them as possible?

Uh oh you’re on to me. :p
Nah I’m not trying to speed up their molt just curious.

Yeah, “the heard and not done” thing is a tough one these days... I’ve noticed that some folks will say “well I’ve heard .... “ or “well I’ve read...”

That I have no problem with... it’s when they leave that off and offer it up as if it’s coming from experience... as you mentioned on a predator thread the other day... it’s glaringly obvious who’s talkin from their backside on some of that stuff...

Maybe your old man was just pulling your chain with the wildcat ;)

Some of those old names are just generational...

I said something about deer “horns” and got a little science lesson from an 18 year old about the difference between horns and antlers... this from a kid that had probably never collected a set of either, lol ...

I’ve known the difference between horns and antlers since I was about 10, but the old fellas always said horns, so I like to say horns some times...

but that was just lost on this kid, because when he was done, I just said “hmmm, well this one had horns....” and laughed...but I could tell from his reaction, it made him doubt everything he’d just said... so I explained “horns” as a colloquialism for “antlers”

But that’s the kinda thing that’s on here all the time...folks given little lessons on what they’ve just read
He was trying to tell me a wildcat was some other animal. I told him it’s either a damn bobcat or a house cat. I don’t subscribe to Bigfoot sightings. It’s just annoying.

To my notion a wildcat is any type of feral cat.
Could be bobcat. . black panther. . etc.

@Brahma Chicken5000 did you miss my post about somebody trying to tag you in the game thread? I just didn’t want you to miss it. :gigI’m here for you.
Oh I saw it. I don’t recall getting tagged in any other threads besides for the breed guessing threads. Thanks for looking out for me man.
