American Gamefowl

Well around here it’s probably not safe to eat anyway. :gig
I’d imagine they’d have an antifreeze and runoff aftertaste.
Ew. Ya. . that wouldn't taste too good. :lau
I also suppose it's what your used to. I grew up eating bass and catfish. perch and blue gill occasionally if anyone felt like cleaning them.
We rarely bought ground beef. . always processed our own deer.
I remember eating squirrel rabbit, quail, pheasant, frog legs. .
Yum.
I'm hungry now.

Folks don’t believe me, but I’ve never bought ground beef in my life.. I do like a good beef burger at a restaurant though!

.... we just use venison for anything we cook at home, tacos, sketty, etc... my wife is the freezer filler most years these days... takes the pressure off me so I can take more naps ;)

Are the pickerel that you showed ‘Chain pickerel’ or something else?
Yeah they’re chain pickerel. I only know of a few beaver ponds where I can find Redfin pickerel here and they’re pretty small. I haven’t done that in awhile. Gotta wait til the chiggers are gone to get in there or I might not make it out alive.
