Dukes are the cheapest. Thats all you need. Don’t need to mess with more expensive traps til you get involved with bigger stuff. You’ll want to loosen the nut on the pan so it will be on a hair trigger. If you ain’t catching your finger it ain’t light enough.
That’s for wood rats though. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen any other kind of rat. Lol

That’s the size you obviously don’t need a dozen. Might be able to find a few somewhere close at a feed or hardware store.
