American Gamefowl

Most of the guys I see doing things illegally or at least unethically are older guys in their 40-50s and almost never young hunters.
I’m guessing guys shoot deer like that from the road so after the fun of staring at the muddy truck wears off then they go inside and hear the tall tale of how the deer has been stalked for 7yrs straight, nearly got em a few times but that one branch was in the way. Yada yada yada. But here he is!! Proof is in the puddin. Such wastes of life.

Did he at least get out of his vehicle? :barnie

Was it shot at night too? Can your friend file a lawsuit against him? Probably not worth the trouble but man some of these guys gotta be taught a lesson.

It was apparently shot in the early morning before daylight... no one saw or heard it, but a neighbor noticed it on the way to work and called the friend, who then called the authorities...

The agent could estimate the time of death based on rigor, etc...

I’m sure the dirtbags will do it again... hopefully they’ll get caught next time...

Just sucks for the friend, and neighboring people

So they just wanted to kill it and let it lay?

The thought was that they shoot, then leave in case someone heard, and then they come back later and take the head, etc..

Or that the neighbor came along and interrupted them...
I know the state here will take the heads off of bucks so the dirtbags can’t. I’m sure some still get them though. How pathetic is that? They probably mount them in their houses too. Makes you wonder when they get up in the morning and they’re making coffee if it bothers them as they glance at the buck on the wall knowing they scooped it off the road or shot it illegally.

That’s entitled humans for you.
Hey Brahma just so you know you can actually get an apprentice license to hunt without going through the course. You would just have to be in direct verbal contact with a licensed hunter over 21. You’d still have to buy the licenses and tags and any mistakes you make is on the mentor.

Wow that sounds awesome. I don’t suppose you’d be willing to take on the roll of mentor for me?

I was kinda surprised the friend was allowed to keep it because I’ve heard in the past that they often confiscate them, just in case the person reporting it was the person that did it, or whatever...

Maybe that’s just when things seem fishy or something, I dunno
