American Gamefowl

Nope. .nor pits.
My vet wrote my dumped dog up as a lab mix so I could keep it. Hey. . it might have been. . he was a stray :p

Couldn't agree more.

Me too.
I don't blame anyone for being Leary of any big dog. They should be. .
But it does irritate me when people get on the bandwagon saying how bad the entire breed is. . when it's usually a person problem not a dog problem.
And I don't care if it's a teacup Chihuahua. . if it's mean it needs a 22 shot.
If you were to look in a shelter around here 90% of them are pit bulls or pitbull mixes. Its pretty sad but there’s a lot of people that want them to look tough or something.

My MIL has the worst little dog. He’s crazy. He growls and snarls at everyone but me. That dog is messed up because of her. She does everything wrong and I mean everything. The same thing happens with bigger dogs and the people get rid of them after they failed them.

I got bit by a guys dam Pekinese once.. The owners thought it was pretty funny. I did not. Didn't break the skin but I had a knot there on my calf muscle for over a year.
I forget how many people that dog bit over the years. Totally the owners fault. They thought it was funny that everyone was scared of that little dog. It even bit their own kid once. . they did nothing about it.
That kind of thing just sets me on fire.

I just checked a shelters website. 16 out of 24 adoptable dogs were pit bulls or pit bull mixes. 2 hounds, 1 mastiff mix and the rest old little terriers and chihuahuas.

I did find a 1 yr old hound mix that looked pretty good though. I love the questionnaires.
Some little girl that works at a shelter can make requirements about age of kids, no other pets, etc.. I understand they’re trying to make sure dogs go to good homes but people like me who would otherwise provide a good home aren’t going to pay $250 for a shelter dog and then have to bend over backwards to accommodate their requirements.
The rescue groups are even more ridiculous. No other pets, no cats etc.. I’ve come to the conclusion there are just way too many dumb people alive today.

Checked another. 58 pitbulls out of 76 dogs!!!! There were a few without pictures so probably more.
This is why some cities don’t allow them. I’m not saying I agree with it but I don’t really blame them. These 3 shelters I looked at are all fairly close to me. That’s over 100 pit bulls in them making up well over 90% of the available dogs.

That was going to be my very next comment.
They make you jump through so many hoops to even adopt a shelter animal for most logical people it's not even worth it!
Someone I know tried adopting a German shepherd from a shelter. . they wanted more information than the Irs.
Plus the fees.
Plus immunisation and vet records for their outdoor BARN cats.
They ended up saying forget it and bought one from a breeder for less money.

I really don't blame the city for having the ordinances either. Cause just like my neighbor most won't spend the time to train a dog or keep it restrained. . it's bad enough with other dogs around here. Who would wanna be the dog catcher and wrangle a loose pit.
