The last dog I got from a shelter was from GA. I got her for free and just had to put her down last year at 17 yrs old.

No worries. She lived a long life. I’ve lost a dog a year for the past 4 yrs. My last Doberman passed two weeks ago. That’s why I was looking at all the breeders, shelters and rescues.

Ughhghgh.

See. . those dogs should've been put down immediately after they they bit the guy.
You just can't save them all.. And put yourself and others at risk
I've also noticed that in a lot of the cases there was at least one incident if not more before the main event. Meaning the deaths were
Totally preventable if people would pull up their big girl/boy panties and do what needs to be done.

I have a hard time losing any of my animals. I’ve cried over birds that I never even really liked. My oldest pug & very best friend Meaty is showing me that his time is shortening & I hate to sound like a dumb little girl, but I just don’t know how I’m gonna deal with it.
Losing dogs is the hardest!

Nothing wrong with being upset about it roomy.
Sucks big time for sure especially when you have to make the decision to have them put down.
But I also know your not the type to let an animal suffer either. When the time comes you'll know. . and you'll want your friend to go peacefully and not be miserable anymore. It will still suck but no more than it sucks watching something you love suffer.

I’ve had dogs my entire life. I’ve never not had at least one. I do handle it better than most probably but it still sucks for sure. I love dogs and will always have them.
I’m getting a puppy next week.
They’ve cost me an arm and leg too. I paid $3k for a hernia surgery on my last Doberman 2 yrs ago. He still went tits up on me.
There’s something wrong with anyone that doesn’t like dogs.

I’ve had dogs & other animals my whole life too. You’d think you’d get tougher, but I just keep getting softer (...& squishier around the middle, but that’s a whole other topic. )
