It didn’t bounce off though. It went right through the spine and the deer fell over on the tip.

I have barriers around the bottoms of all my pens. I like to turn a hen with chicks loose in the yard sometimes. Barriers keep her from tearing her feet up on the wire. Just because you have never had a rooster to keep all the yard stags in line for a month or two longer doesn't mean he is not out there. The right hen works good too.

Nah different deer. That one I never should have shot at. That doe knew something was wrong and I shot anyway. I got lucky with that one. I sat with her for over 2 hrs in 90 degree heat after I tracked her. That was dumb.

Uh huh. I was so mad at myself for shooting when I knew damn well I shouldn’t have. Nonetheless I tracked her and got her dressed and iced down. Man I swear it was so hot that day with me crouched for like 2 hrs with an arrow nocked in case she got up.

I’ve put zero time in scouting anything. I’ll go sit awhile tomorrow and maybe Sunday morning and see what happens. I’d be even happier arrowing a fox. Ok maybe not but I’ll take the fox too.
