American Gamefowl

Thank you for clarifying. I didn't quite get what you were saying in the other post, I had to re-read it. Something was wrong with me some how When you said (she) I thought you were referring to a chicken :gig silly me  .

I don't see nothing wrong with crossing game birds with layers either .

That's a shame.

I get surprised when I hear about people doing stuff like that, but I forget they are doing it all around here to. Like My neighbor down the road he tried pulling a fast one on me , sold me a bunch of old sick chickens just to make a buck. I lost a lot of respect for him that day.

I thought I sounded mean so I edited it, lol.

I will have admit these birds are the result of two opposite breeds crossed.

I will see if I can get a picture for y'all . Unfortunately I have only one hen left that is a direct cross. I had a rooster but he died and the chicks that I made from them didn't look quite the same as the adults.

And idk I'm not really for mixing them up unless you have a purpose and plan to let 0 out the main reason is a lot claim them to be something they are not. I'm not really for it but in her situation I'm not against it.

I hate it for my boy but he's got these atleast. Hate it in general they are the most gentle birds here. If worst comes to worst I'll let him choose a rooster after I get done culling my others from this season. Things do happen and I couldn't save them when I'm asleep and they decided to go under the bucket gap.
Well Don, I had to think loooong and hard about the crossing LOL Plans change and you sure can't count chicks before they hatch nor even count on eggs being laid - for now, it is what it is.

I'm sorry that you lost them. You think you can hatch more out this year? I'm sure the Little Fella is disappointed though.

I think it passed his inspection, he was in there the whole time while I was trying to set up everything LOL Yes, I moved him before the chicks came out.

Yeah it's just something we have to deal with When keeping birds. Hopefully the rest of his birds do well.
