No matter what kind of gamefowl you have they will all be killed eventually by something if you don’t trap. If you wait til you lose a bird you’re way behind and will be playing catch up. At the very least you’ll lose enough to where you’ll figure free ranging isn’t worth it.
 
It’s way worse if you allow hens and chicks to be loose 24/7. I’ve shot two more possums the past two days plus the 3 raccoons. The last possum was only 20ft from a hen with 8 chicks on the ground. It’s not a good plan unless you’re a light sleeper and don’t mind running around shooting in the middle of the night.

I agree with that 110% keep traps set at all times and catch them before they catch chickens. I’ve been lucky so far but I don’t hesitate when it comes to the birds to pop a cap in something lol
