American Gamefowl

Well, we'll see how it pans out. First time using a broody for me. I hope Valeriy was doing his job for sure, I would hate for her to set for nothing.

I figured she was getting ready a few days ago, she was growling around at treat time, nobody better touch the corn! LOL Now, she's just catatonic and I haven't heard a peep from her, I figured she'd be ready to rip my face off, her being an Evil Twin Sister and all

Put a feeder and waterer near her and fill em back up every few days. Otherwise leave her alone and she’ll be fine.

I won’t use anything but a broody especially after hatching the pumpkin biddies not saying they’ll all be that easy but she did a good job and made it easy on us but the hen that’s sitting now got named psycho don’t figure I’ll be sticking my fingers around her she’s a good hen just a hateful ass sometimes hopefully she does her job but I guess time will tell lol

I thought about doing that. I haven't messed with her, just peered in there to make sure she was sitting and not dead :p Figured she'd scream her head off at me LOL I can put a couple of cage cups in there with food/water, they'll fit on the wire right there in front of her.

This one actually hasn't been hateful at all, she's just really flighty and a wall climber. She's calmed quite a bit and runs to the door to meet me now getting ready for fresh water/treats, etc. No touching or hand feeding, but that's fine. I have laying hens and the roosters for that LOL

Yeah this one does the same thing. She’s quick as can be but she will beat herself to death if you move toward her to quick lol

What size pen is she in? If she still has had the room to get away then she’ll stay that way. Smaller pen would have made it a simple process. They can easily be tamed down.
Once she has chicks she will warm up to you since you’ll be feeding them. As long as you don’t go trying to cuddle the chicks that would be the time to get her tamed down.

Oh yeah...don't like that beating herself - I mostly ignore her (and watch out of the corner of my eye) if she thinks I don't see her, she's tiptoeing up real close LOL

Not sure exactly what size that house is - probably 3X6 or so, she's got plenty of room to move away and space for chicks to roam in there (secured) - I brood chicks in there.
Mr. Black and Ira stay in one just like it at night.
I think she'll be fine, the house is about hip high or so on me, so I'm not "hovering over" like I would if chicks/birds are on the ground - for me, that makes a big difference. All the birds I have now (except for her) were raised that way and for "most" of them they are pretty tame.

Her brother is defiantly the easiest thing I’ve got to handle I can sit my hand down in his pen and he will walk up on your hand to be picked up but when he’s had enough he’s quick to tell ya lol
