LOL......Sorry, it's the stalk of the plant. Looks just like wood shavings and I do not think that you would want that in a pipe!!

Toni, I'm so sorry to hear about your DH.....this reminded me of my dad when he had a double by pass open hart surgery, it was hard for the whole family while he was recovering from it. I wish you and yours family all the best!!!!

I had to remove Little Big Mouth from the Serama pen today. One of the other roos was beating him up

His poor comb is bloody but I don't think it's too bad. He still has all his points, guess I caught it in time. Wonder what the deal is? They've been together since they hatched back in October?

So Little Big Mouth is now in with the roller pigeons with a girlfriend

so today I was walking out to the chicken coop and they were free ranging close to the coop. All of the sudden i heard squaking. I started running just to see in time to see a cat with a chicken in its mouth jumping over the fence!!!! I started chasing it and jumped over the bob wire fence. I couldn't catch it and my husband came running with the shotgun! All I found was some black feathers. I started to panic because I let out a black serama today to free range because she rushed the gate and I was feeling guilty. I ran back to the coop and found her......but it could have easily been her! We are setting an animal trap tonight and will start catching them. Sorry Cat lovers. We love cats to but they are vicious feral vampire cats that have been eating my chickens for years now!! and I have finally had enough. I would take them to the Humane Society but it is 2 hours away and they would just get put down because they are feral. I am not sure what to do with them after we catch them but to maybe take them to some local people for barn cats, but they just breeding. My husband is made because he has to...in his words... hear them fornicating on our property at night, like it is a brothel!!

good for you...

yeah, i'm tired of seeing feral cats in my neighborhood... what gets me mad too is that some of the neighbors feed them... but i can't tell them anything because i'm not supposed to have chickens in the first place... i need to get a trap or make one... when i hear my birds screaming in the middle of the night, i come out running with a sword and see a cat jump the wall and leave...

i need... ninja stars...

paint ball gun gumbi....this way the cat is tagged and you know which one you got it will give em a welt they will think twice about before they come back
