Mine do that too!!! Out of all the nests I have around in various places they would rather lay in the pine shaving bag.

Hey ZooMumzzy......

When I went to bed I had three pipping! When I got up this morning I had seven new babies and another is pipping!!!!! That just leaves two more to pip.

Congrats Carla!!!! That is so awesome! You and Beth had babies hatching at the same time. The frizzled possibilities are Amadeus and Napoleon. Beth had one hatch from Napoleon and Brigette (my curly) so I will see if I can put lots of theirs in the next box for you. With Amadeus you have a 50/50 chance since he is frizzled. I will start collecting silkied and more frizzled for you today

I am setting 18 silkied and frizzled today for myself but the girls have been laying everyday so I should get quite a few for you. I also have two smooth orders for this week and next so that leaves a lot of frizzled eggs that need a home. Amadeus' girls give me 3 a day and Napoleon's girls at least 1 a day. Can't wait to see photos of the babies! Beth is posting hers later too. It's always a good day when babies hatch!

Hi! I have 2 Serama eggs in my incubator that were sent to me as extras with my Silkie eggs. So far I'm on day 13 and everything looks great! How long of an incubation time for Serama's? When to put in lockdown? Thanks for any answers!

I incubate mine the same as any other chicken egg but others have different methods. I lock down at the end of day 18. I had one hatch on day 19 this last hatch but that is more a rarity than the norm for me. Best of luck! They are addicting and you'll want more!

I'm not really sure how this happened but Napoleon and Fawn (my frizzled hen from Juliette) threw a silked frizzle! I always knew this chick looked different and today I am sure of it. The feathers are frizzled but also silkied. I checked it against the other two frizzles from them and yep! Silkied frizzle! I knew I'd get some from the other pen but wasn't expecting this little one!!! So anyone who has hatched eggs or has eggs from this pair - the possibility is there! I took some photos and if they turned out, I will post them. If not, I'm doing a photo shoot later today or tomorrow with all the new chicks and some of my other hens too.
