American serama thread!

Seramagirl, birds on the banner sure look way more developed than 4 months! Very nice.

Warrprincess, hen looks wheaten not sure about cockerel.

Maui not sure what your question is about your males but you can certainly post there pictures here if you want some feedback on who to keep.
There are some experts here and some of us not so expert just Serama lovers.

Thot I would be posting eggs for sale by now....................very sporadic laying thus far.

Theron, yes if you or all who post an auction will put your pictures IN the auction thread, your buyers can see them much easier and clearer. I never could get the pic to load on Reds auction, so she was nice enough to post them in the auction thread.

Whoever posted about age of young pullet laying, usually 4-6 months. It depends on many things including the weather and her size and her feed and when she molts and.........................

Def use savachick. On a lone chick i use a feather duster. I know it sounds strange but tie it up to where the feathers are just a inch above the floor. it will go under there and be comfy and warm. Found using a 60 watt bulb works best for mine. Change water and bedding out daily. Wish you the best of luck. oh dip beak in water.
I have a Serama chick question....
As some of you know I had my first Serama baby on the 10th of this month, it seems to be doing fine, but we do have an issue. It goes backwards most of the time and keeps getting on its back and then it can't get back up. I am afraid it will die on it's back. What is going on with him and is there anything I can do to help. Also he chirps constantly, he is lonesome I know because we don't have any body to go with him, he was a lone hatch. Thanks everyone in advance

Does your feed store have chicks now? It is really hard with a loner, try and find at least another chick any breed to help you help him. SOunds like nutrition def , check with your vet, they 'go downhill' really fast a day, will make a difference. My special needs chicks get abba green (pet store baby parrot formula) and soymilk spoonfed, thick if eats eating slurpy if not. Dip tip of beak into mix, auto reflex should kick in. Dont (I dont) force beak open and squirt food in.

Might have to try the parrot formula for my smallest chicks. Sounds like a great idea to get them off to a good start.
