Smoothmule - Gorgeous golden duckwing boy. I love the colorful seramas. Some of his feathers look teal - how pretty.

TailFluff, The golden is Ken's, mine is the silver (but carries gold as well from what I'm seeing in his chicks). Seems's like a pure silver is very hard to get. It could also be my hen (Ashe) though. Hens can also carry both silver and gold.

Some of the chicks I hatched this time are golden duckwing. They're out of my black hens.

what a little cutie. I just hatched 17 this weekend myself. Hopefully I'll have time soon to take a picture of them. I have another roo that I have no idea
what his color would be called but he's so bright I named him Neon...


So you are saying you bred your duckwing to black? I wondered about that and checked it on the Chicken Calculator but it made it seem like the offspring would be black.
I would love to see what your golden duckwings look like when their color comes in. I picked Cheif (gold duckwing) specifically for his round ball shape and colors.

Suz, The duckwing chick in the photo is likely out of my silver duckwing hen and that silver duckwing rooster. The other 2 hens in that pen are black but I don't think they could be the mother of that duckwing chick. One of my silvers is probably split for gold, could be both of them are so I will hatch gold and silver duckwings from that cross. I haven't hatched any black chicks from that pen and I know both black hens were laying because there were consistently 3 eggs a day from them. I have more from that pen to hatch so we'll see. I am hoping for some black chicks from that cross. I'm trying to work the red out of the cockerels hackles by using the silver rooster.

I'll have some golden duckwing chicks for sale when they're about 4 months.

Long time no see.
Actually Chief is not as small as he looks. He's above size for a Serama but I'm working on trying to get smaller offspring. I just loved his colors and type so much I'm willing to work for it. He does pose nicely but wasn't in the pic. He also has the short legs but by breeding him to a long leg takes care of that. He's just a short, and very round little guy.
Hmmm, Pumpkin works for me....more like Neon Pumpkin

Robin, that is one of the prettiest colored chicks I have ever seen! He looks so grumpy in the first picture, too cute!

here are the dads- they ran with 14 hens, so i really have no way to know- they are cute little bugs though- latte was dusting and poor little coco was having a hard time not getting burried... he would run around and look her in the face like whatcha doin??
