LOL< you sound like me and all the extra crap I end up buying for these things! My husband says I love the birds more than him??? LOL

Lol, well you never know with these birds, they'll be fine one day and sick the next. You can never be to prepared. BUT I pretty much just spent my entire pay check on chickens.

Which is what I've been doing since I got them. Lol.. Next month I'll make a point NOT to spend my entire pay check on chickens.

Yup, that sounds like me. I might take it a step further. If I have a sick one, they sleep next to me in a box so I can keep am eye on them REAL close...LOL :D

LOVE the comment about DIAL-UP being so primitive etc..... TOO FUNNY tailfluff....Youse guys are real mountain mens up there.....:goodpost:

Townhouse...when you figure out how 10 birds can be healthy and only one becomes deathly ill with a respritory or fungal infection please let me know...it is SO baffling how it happens that way.:he :D

so do we do this because we love the birds? or that we are female and want to mother them? or we just kick but as good peeps?

That's not a bad idea, I'd have had them sleeping next to me to, but I didn't know how to do it with out them pooping all over my bed. lol

My first chick of the year was one single peep, hatched on my birthday. I've decided that my hatching problems were related to my turner not being plugged in, and my hatcher humidity fluctuating too much. The turner is now turning, I have an IV strung through the vent hole on the hatcher, and I'm hoping that the next few weeks show some fruition to my changes. Of course, the hens abruptly stopped laying......

Anyway, here's birthday chick in his first photo-op. I have a 5 year old cat, Macaroni, who likes the babies:

I have a baby cat, Watson (yes, Watson is a girl), who LOVES them!

Ahaha, that paw coming through the brooder, is to funny. Macaroni looks like a mix of two of my orange boys. And that's okay that Watson is a girl, my friends named their female cat McGreggan
