he and ruth would make pretty babies!:)

I like her and I they would probably have some beautiful babies!! If Ruth is carrying silkied they could also produce some silkied chicks. Like Bobby said the mottled is very easy to get. You'd probably get some mottled with any color roo you breed her to.

I have another boy you would like. He's out of Bruce x Layla. I'll see if I can get a better pic of him. He was being a little butt and turned his head just as I snapped the shot so I finally gave up...lolo...13 mo old now but was younger in this pic. This was taken sometime last summer. One of his sickle feathers is now white. He's a full brother to Mayla and Gayla...The Sisters.

I have RA in both hands and it's very hard to get them to stand, not fly off and hold the camera too. All they really need is working with but I have way to many now....I really need to cut down!!

I'm about to put this little 8 mo old pullet in with BB. Her mother is by Bo (silkied) and out of Layla. Her father is Spence. She and BB both carry the silkied gene through Bo, so There could be some silkied chicks too.
She's more vertical but was scared and as you can see she wouldn't stand tall.

I'm having to cut back on my birds so it will be easer to care for them when I have a RA flare. I've just started taking Enbrel along with the Arava and Prednisone for the RA and I'm hoping this works so I can keep some of my birds.
I'm thinking about putting some on Juliette's auction site so I'm taking pics of all the birds and thought I'd share.
Here's a couple more of the 8 month old boys. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Here's a couple of my 8 mo old pullets. The first one has a really strange personality. She usually jumps on my arm when I feed them and I usually take her out and put her on my shoulder while I feed the others but one day she tried to flog me and drew blood when she pecked me. It was like she was really really POed about something...lolol...I took her out and she was back to her sweet self again. She's usually very sweet but has done this a couple of times. Has anyone ever had a pullet do that? I've never had a cockerel, roo or hen try to flog me or draw blood when they pecked! Her beak has been trimed since these pics.

I'm wanting get their feathers in condition to show both of these girls this fall....just hope Psycho gal doesn't attack the judge.

Question on what/how to set serama eggs in a cabinet incubator. I have been using my Brinsea Eco 20 with the adjustable rails for 2 hatches, but now I am out of room and need to use my GQF cabinet incubator. Are quail racks too small? Thanks for the help!

Hi, I use my GQF's for my serama eggs and I think the quail racks are to small. I tried to use them last year and they would fall out when the bator turned the eggs.

I have racks for bantam size eggs as well as other racks for different sizes. If you are going to be hatching them might want to invest in a few. Its so worth it because they dont tumble out and they are not loose in the rack either.

Field trip time! I let all the new babies play on the leeward side of the house for a few minutes, and they loved it! Couldn't get enough of pecking at everything they saw and getting tangled up in the flowers. One even learned how to do the "sunshine sprawl"! If it weren't so breezy today, I'd let them play in the chicken tractor.
