American serama thread!

I look but unless I can see the whole bi picture, how many birds housed, cleaning schedule, feeds etc. I try not to judge the breeder by the background . If the birds look good and they are in good condition I think it says a lot more about the care than seeing poop in a photo.Photos will pick up on the smallest remnants of urates. besides some situations are transient. I took some photos while I was working on the tractor my birds are housed in and I was using a couple of dog kennels for saw horses and work benches that had been sitting outside and really needed a cleaning but I noted how nice my birds were looking that day and wanted to document the roosters molting process so took some pics amidst the construction materials and dirty kennels and thought " Looks like they live in a junkyard" but the birds were healthy and happy .
your picts have been great, i was just commenting in general

sounds like you really love your birds and that is really all that matters

all i can say is WOW WOW WOW love em all

hehe Wait until you see what Jacob and I will do when we start to line breed these birds ... Who knows . It's like slapping to beautiful typey birds together and pray the offspring is good looking hehe

Thank you rach. Yeah I was thinking I would have to just forget about color for a while until I get type under control. You'd think I know what table top judging is but I don't. What is it?

You can get lots of info on Seramas at the American Serama Assoc:

is it just me or does anyone else look at the backgrounds of the photo's? they sure tell alot more than the picts.... love to see clean cages, green yards, carpeted tables, terrible to view coops full of poo, rusty old trucks or just plain trash

Yes, I always look at backgrounds when looking at anything.

I'm still confused about showing seramas. If I went to a big show would there be a class for them or no? Would I have to got to a special serama only show? Are any of the color patterns aba accepted?

SCNA is the only Seramas club that is reconize BY ABA and APA cause it's been a club for more then 10 years... They only have True Whites at this time for ABA or APA show and SCNA is now working on other color which other clubs can't haha . Jerry has also change the leg color's on the blacks ... So ABA and APA will being showing some true blacks Seramas and Wheaton in the next few years ...
