American serama thread!

Thank you :hugs   I'd really be happy with anything, but at least a pair would be best so they can keep each other company :p

tallied 'em up, and this is what I see:

2 look good
3 are questionable
3 I'm sure are dead with blood rings
1 is clear

I won't take any out of the 'bator until I'm 100% certain though ;)

The only one for sure you can take out is the clear one IF it stays clear after another few days.
I have never hatched by incubator, only Hen+o+bator but I know it can be very frustrating..... :)

Yah, I won't take 'em out until it's super obvious! I thought one was dead in my leghorn batch as it hat so much space/clear lighting at the bottom on day 18, yet it caught up and hatched anyway??? Maybe it was tucked up unusually? I have no idea, but it's one of my current babies in the brooder! same size as the others??

So yah, I learned my lesson to wait till it's super obvious and a possible danger to the others (explosions) LOL

Looks like a mottled black tailed buff to me.

And....

I have a broody!!!

Hopefully she can hatch her three eggs and keep them warm with this cold weather we've been getting at night. If not, I'll be taking them out and adding them to the brooder. Should have an incubator hatch going around the same time.

CONGRATS on your broody and three eggies!!!! :yesss: Just bring mama and the eggs inside if its getting too chilly at night. Hen-O-bators are SO MUCH more fun that incubators. :love

chasinglights, RedRoosterFarm and mystdogs your birds are so lovely! Wow! I don't often see white seramas (though they're the only ones with official color standards as I understand it??) It's neat to see them all at once. I just love frizzles!

Congratulations, Laingcroft! little fuzzy butts coming right up!!!!

Yup. Already have two fuzzy butts in the brooder with my Legbars. Here's the broody mama not having any part of picture time. Do you think she could fluff up any bigger?
