He's so cute! I have had several with those little booties...they are all doing great now too! I have one from my last hatch with 1 curled toe. No idea where or why, but she's still cute. I hope someone will want her anyway...if not, I'll keep her. She's going to be a beautiful apricot/buff like her Mom I think.

They are adorable and totally different yet so similar to mine right now! I love all the color combinations my pens are throwing to everyone. It's so cool! Three roos isn't bad at all. I was so lucky and got enough to make 5 pairs and 1 trio...how lucky can you get???

Thanks froggie and sunny. So I am new to this but is sour crop the result of an impacted crop and if so how do you prevent it. Opal was probabley 3 or 4 and she never had any health issues. I just wish I had caught it sooner. She was impossible to catch and has never gotten easier to handle. She would scream everytime you picked her up.

thanks zoomumzy. It just really sucks. I hate this feeling. Is Tammy the one that you got from pixie chick? I am going to buy medical supplies next time I am in Phx to have on hand. The feed store that has chicks all year round doesn't have any medical supplies for chicks so I am going to have to order it on line or get it in a bigger city. What does every one keep on hand? I live 3 hours away from a big city so I can't just go get it so I am really going to have to make me a chicken medicine cabinet.

Try not to beat yourself up about it ... birds hide their illness really well, even if you had known what to look for you might not have noticed until now. Also all of those feathers hide how skinny they are so it's hard to tell and usually you don't pick up chickens all of the time. Unless you are my son!
