Oddly enough, it's actually WAY easier to post videos than picture from my phone haha!i can't view it on this computer, can you post pics??
Oh feuf! It kinda looks like he left a chunk of himself in the shell so that makes total sense.Yes, It's fine. Perfectly normal. It won't look like that in a few hours. It's where the "cord" for lack of a better word, was.
I keep telling my husband he's fine but he's freaking out and it's making me nervous!Oh my gosh, he is so CUTE! Like a turtle chicken! I know you're worried, but I think he'll be ok, and opening up such a small incubator might dry everyone out, so best to let him struggle (it'll only make him stronger) though our instinct is to help him, I'm sure he'll be fine for the time being until the others hatch. I had one with egg on her head, I just let it fall off naturally (she's my favorite bird now)![]()
Thank you everyone. It could be Beth wrote frizzle on the egg but meant silky, it does get confusing sometimes when you're trying to fill orders I bet! I'd sure have a hard time! I'll send her a PM. Hope she has silkies and frizzles together, so I might have both, LOL. That would be very cool.

I don't know if I got pictures though

Ok... scared new chickie mama here!
Is he ok? Can I leave that shell stuck to his back? He looks fine until he falls down and it looks like it is putting a ton of pressure on his little neck... I don't want him to get hurt!
and the other eggs he's pushing all over the bator are ok too right??
I keep telling my husband he's fine but he's freaking out and it's making me nervous!
TURTLE CHICKEN... haha that's adorable. I may just have to name him turtle. He's so much fun to watch. I'm just watching them hatch and cracking up.
Theres one more that has cracked through the shell that you can see in the video and a third in the back who is wiggling a little but you can't really hear any pipping over turtle butt haha hes so loud! The other two don't seem to be doing anything yet.
So you think I can sleep tonight? Tomorrows my LAST DAY of my Veterinary Assistant externship - they already graded me and I got an A =) so sleep would be nice... but I don't know if I can sleep with all this excitement!
So I am re-vising the diaper stuff. I think I can charge like $9 per diaper. $5 for shipping up to 10 diapers. $2 more for an extra back piece to fit another bird. $1 more for leash loops. The cat cage came with a pair of cockatiels I adopted, so not sure where to get one. It's an awful cage for cockatiels, but after I wrapped the bottom foot or so in cardboard it's worked great for the seramas.![]()
Your chicken in the diaper is super cute! I might end up keeping my 2 favorites inside, and if I do I'll be getting a few diapers so will keep you in mind.
Great pics! Wonder what is going on in those little heads of theirs, lol.
OH! That is an AWESOME idea! I do that for my rabbits - make those NIC cages out of the buildable grid cubes! You can get a box of 6 cubes for $20 at target.they are my tiny ones, they are best buddies, the others are quite a bit larger
was looking at those cat cages- on ebay they are about $100, wonder if you bought some panels, and made one yourself would be cheaper??
Do you breed and sell these little cuties?
AHHH! They are so fuzzy! I hope mine fuzz out a little bit. They are all supposed to be smooth, but ALL the babies are little fuzz butts aren't they?
I didn't get a picture of the funky butt. He's too darn wiggly now, I can't get much of a picture at all anymore, just video, sorry! Thanks for wanting to help though =)i can't view it on this computer, can you post pics??

Feuf. You guys are a real life saver! I need all this good advice from you guys who have hatched before. It's sure nerve wracking not to know exacty what's going on or what's normal. The first chick jostling all of the other eggs around stimulates them. I would have taken the shell off, but I can just pop a window out and reach in, you probably shouldn't if you have to take the whole top off. I'm sure it'll be fine. Soooo Stinking CuteI'm loving the videos...![]()

Oh good! He seemed pretty healthy to me, but reassurance is never a bad thing! He looks awfully healthy, don't stay up for him! Get some sleep and if he's in your room, maybe you should put him elsewhere 'cause then you're sure not to get any sleep!! LOL
Tomorrow, if it's stuck on him, just give him a nice warm soak in a bowl of water (making sure he doesn't slip in and drown!) to loosen it up and help it come off. Or else you can break it until only the stuck parts stay on, and let time cause it to fall off (did that with mine, cause it was on her delicate little head, and I didn't want to cause more harm than good) Good luck sleeping!!! I'm going to bed in a few myself, as I've been having trouble lately getting to sleep timely, LOL. Gotta finish that coop tomorrow!!!!
