American serama thread!

Does anyone have eggs for sale? Trying to find some serama or frizzle serama. please pm me if you have any or will have any. Thanks
I think i saw an ad from Bhep in the classified section here. She has frizzles too I think. 2 of mine are from her, and I love them.

Help me! I have a baby Serama that just hatched a few days ago and was doing well. Arrive home after a basketball game tonight and the baby is laying very still in the brooder. So, I pick her up and her body feels limp but she is still peeping. I dip her beak in the water and she takes a few sips. I come back 30 minutes later with no improvement. What is wrong?
I have nothing to ad to what everyone else has posted, but I wish you luck! Hope she gets better soon.

try giving them bubble baths and blow dry, it seems to break down some resistance- something about a beauty treatment..:)

Just had to bath my silkie hen at 930 at night someone pooped on her and it mad her wing stick to her side she actually fell asleep as I carried her back to the coop I felt so bad I woke her up sometimes I feel like I have four infants in my backyard not four chickens I'm amazed at their personalities and I love them I call them my babies!!! I'm off to bed though I will post pictures of my Jenna and aurora tomorrow!

Are you giving it medicated feed? Perhaps you'd best get a little corid to put in the water? Also make sure the brooder isn't too hot, and that the chicks can get away to a cooler area. Add perhaps a teaspoon of sugar to a glass of water, but if you can get to a drug store, get some baby pediacare infant vitamins without iron and give her some of that. If she's that weak, she's in danger I'm afraid!

I know, I can't believe how much they love baths! After years of washing my dogs, always a struggle, I was so shocked the first time I needed to wash a bird, LOL, what a difference! They really love it!

I totally agree. Love these birds so much, I may not make a good chicken farmer after all, don't think I can slaughter, which is too bad. I'd like to be able to raise the roosters for meat, but it's too hard with the ones I have right now, they're my babies, ugh! How did that happen?

Easiest source of sugar and a little electrolyte is Gatorade--a drop or two full strength then split half with water (is about the same as pedialyte). Usually well received.

No clue about the actual problem, sorry--good luck!

I gave my baby sugar water and thats all I could get into her before she passed. What do you think was the cause of death?
Sometimes Serama chicks just don't thrive no matter what you do. They genetically have a few kinks that sometimes show up, so I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. So sorry though, it sucks to lose one of these awesome little guys.
