Well....she died overnight, I guess. I don't understand it. So **** sad.![]()
Congrats on your first egg! Aren't they so teeny and cute? I've got 2 out of 3 girls laying now, just waiting for #3 to start. They were all october hatched babies, they grow up quick, lol.LOL, (evil grin)![]()
Yaaay!!! Comon....baby!![]()
Well he is a cutie! I'm going to guess Wheaten? Is that right? Was he yellow as a baby?
Oh dear, my fab 4 are still living in a rabbit hutch in the house, LOL. They do have the run of the yard all day though, however I just found an egg in the hutch tonight while putting them back! This egg must have been laid this morning and I didn't notice! So here is our first Serama egg, but I have no idea who laid it. I'm only guessing Harriet because she's a couple of weeks older than everyone else???

YEAH!!!! That means mine are almost there too. My little roo has been "bothering" the girls for a few days now.
I dunno, I thought that the brownish/beige color with blackish grey wing tips and tail tips meant wheaten? LOL But maybe that's just for the girls???Hmm..I have the worst time with ID'ing color, and on frizzles? Sorry, Charlie, no can do! But seriously, I don't see 'wheaten' there--might be wheaten based but were he wheaten, I'd expect more contrast in the hackle and saddle compared to the rest of him....?
Oh, I'm so sorryWell....she died overnight, I guess. I don't understand it. So **** sad.![]()
When you candle the egg, you can often see the shadow of the beak inside the air sackHow do you tell? How exciting!!!
Wow, and I thought I had bad luck! Ugh! If I were to do it all over again, I probably would have bought the Brinsea mini advance with a quail egg turner, and used that. I would probably have had a lot more success. Thanks for the kindness -- we have tried to hatch 46 Serama eggs so far with a 0% hatch rate. Its frustrating.![]()
They really do grow up quick! Mine were born mid October and on Halloween. So I think this egg comes from the oldest hen born mid OctoberCongrats on your first egg! Aren't they so teeny and cute?
