My 2 little Serema babes. They're so similar in color but so different. One is black and white whereas the other one is a bit more tan. So cute! Both have yellow legs too.

Oh and who can resist a cutey Cochin? <3 she's so odd, she isn't frizzle, neither parents are, but her feet almost look frizzle... Hmmm...,lol

I am going to add one more thing to Therons' post. Pure seramas DO NOT have white/pink legs. Any other color they do, but not white/pink.
Table Top judging is color blind. They only time that leg color would come into play is if the judge liked 2 birds equally and had to choose one, the yellow legs would take precedence.

NOW, we just GOTTA see pictures of your new little BEBES!!!!

Weird thing is they came from me.... I don't have any with white/pink legs. I have birds with black, willow, green, yellow, and some with black and yellow. None here with white/pink legs. Scifisarah, could you post some pictures of them?

That is a cutie! Pretty color!! Chocolate?
Is that the color? I have no idea, I'm just in serama for the cute factor =P
I kept him out of all the babies because I've never had a brown one before. I'm really excited! I hope he gets along with Toy so he can stay with us. Although I will need to get him a hen, I am down to just the one hen =( I have a dozen more eggs in the bator so *FINGERS CROSSED* I get a couple hens this time! I would love to start my own hobby breeding program and work on good type. I know my birds have all been pet quality, but they sure are adorable.

Hey, I was wondering if there are any breeders on here who cull their non SQ birds? I don't want to start a fire, I was just wondering if everyone who breeds these guys rehomes pet quality, or if there are actually some that cull.
Has anyone tried caponizing their pet quality boys to keep them but avoid having them breed?

The only color that is accepted for in cage judging is white. Those have to have yellow legs and red earlobes. Anything passes for the table top judging.
As far as in cage judging, I have had a mottled take BB at an ABA show last year. Black, wheaton, exchequer and I believe a few other colors, have been submitted for acceptance therefore, when judge in cage, those colors must have the appropriate leg coloring. For table top, it doesn't matter.

AMEN! Thank you OCSerama for the knowledge!

Ok. Guess I have heard differently. I know other colors have been submitted, but I didn't think you could win at an ABA show. I know that at our local show this spring, the colored seramas weren't judged in cage. Only the whites. Guess there is quite a bit misinformation out there. Thanks for the info.

I would love to have your input on these. Perhaps the white/pink is a recessive in two or more of the birds you are breeding? I took photos of my two with white/pink legs and the one with willow legs. I included one of the mottled yellow legged birds for comparison. I think I'd like to breed towards all of my birds having yellow legs, and to stick with ones that have mottled genes. Speaking of - what happened to you and Chickenstock? I was very sad to come home with no seramas.

I love the golden laced pullet! I can get you a pic of her mother. I know exactly who it is. You all had me paranoid, so I ran around and looked at all of the legs of my birds. None were pale/pinkish colored. About chickenstock. I went to bed too late the night before and woke up too late. By the time I would've gotten to chickenstock, it would've been around 1ish.

I will pm you Scifisarah.
