American serama thread!

I have a question for those of you with birds who don't free range - or their diet is mostly just pellets -
Do you know about how much feed you go through per bird?
Any estimate like weekly or daily, would be awesome! If any of you feed your growing birds separately I would love to know about how much they eat too!

My LF follow the 1/3 lb per day per chicken almost to the tee, through spring/summer/winter, but I was wondering if the little guys eat less per bird? My serama are WAY more active than my LF so I'd be interested to see if there is much of a difference since my little guys are always expelling energy and big guys are lazy bums! LOL

Best names ever! Lol

I created a monster when I said he could name the Seramas anything he wanted...lol.
We now have Frodo, Gandalf, Galadriel, Rosie Cotton, Esmeralda Took, Arwen, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, and Goldberry. Remembering or looking up the female names has been a pain though. The momma who's coming will be Éowyn... I know he wants the next male we keep to be Sméagol, but other than that I have no idea.
Oh TweetyNPetey we may have some pullets for you since you're fairly close. I think, I know you're in PA at least lol.

Haha, well at least your kids are happy!

Kuku, I am so happy Toy, Berry and baby are doing so well. What did you name the chick? You most have some idea if it is a hen or cockeral.

For now the chick is just "baby serama" lol since its the only one, and it looks just like Chip except for the black head feathers so I haven't named him yet. Honestly, I suck at sexing! I was SURE chip was a boy until this week when I really had a chance to compare "him" to his brother who TOTALLY look like roosters and Chip just barely has a comb LOL so who knows what baby is! No visible comb or wattles yet, so fingers crossed for a girl!

It's about 2 hours (I think), but I know there are plenty of people on the PA unite thread that may be willing to help with transport if we needed help. I have to wait for the new chicks and let them grow out enough to know for sure, but if we do have any pullets I'll let you know as soon as I can tell them apart. I have a sneaky suspicion I'll be near over run with Seramas (I'm not even gonna try to think of how the LF and other bantam flock will be

)come spring lol.
I'm taking Wally to his first Tabletop Show tomorrow, just for fun :). I've never shown anything before so it's gonna be fun!

He's so handsome! Is he a silkied? I'm still trying to get everything straight in my head (colors, feathering etc)
