American serama thread!

I've got a little serama chick, about 4 days old, who is really weak. I tried offering food and water, and sugar water. He's been super weak since he hatched, but the others are eating and drinking now, have lots of energy, and are plenty strong to carry themselves and jump around. This little guy rarely stands up, stumbles and just gives up, and doesn't open his eyes a lot. Is there anything else can I do for him?

Edit - it just got super weak until it died.
I am sorry . Just happens sometimes.............

It is hard to watch and be able to do nothing.

My lonely serama roo. Only egg that was fertile out of 16. I would like to get him some girls since I only have standard breeds but not gonna pay to get ripped off again. :/

I am really sorry this happened to you....Often if the eggs are not fertile a breeder will replace them for the cost of shipping.
Do not let this sour you. please....there are some very reputable breeders, that know what they are doing available here on BYC.
I love your boys color.
Wish we were closer, my last hatch was 5 pullets.............no Roos...........4 frizzle and a strait.
Maybe someone on here will be able to help you find some girls..........

That's a real bummer! Sometimes serama eggs are just hard to incubate. I've have eggs that I KNOW were good and fertile and super fresh and still not hatch because of rough handling when shipped. Even if the box is pristine, you never know if they played keep away with the box lol.
I wish you better luck on your next hatch! You should give Bhep a try, she has been really kind about replacing orders if they are totally trashed in the mail or freeze in transit. She also has adorable little birds!

So I'm taking a break form shipped eggs while the rest of the country thaws out (HOT and high 70s during the day here, 60's at night =P)
and Berry and Snowball (my lone silkie chicken) started laying again with this funky heat. So I tossed the 7 I collected over the last week into my bator and ALL SEVEN are veining strong!!! OOOOH I'm so excited! This will be my first baby from Snowball and first incubated eggs from Berry! WOO HOO!
Had to share my awesome luck =)

Also, I took 4 of my 5 little roosters from my last hatch (yes... 5 roosters out of 6 eggs... LOL) to the feed store - they buy unwanted roosters for $5 - and 3 of them found homes with people who work at the feed store, and the 4th went home with a regular who spoiles the scrap outta their birds and ALL 4 of the new owners are dying for more! They all fell absolutely in love with the friendly little breed!

I wanted to add that my serama roo Toy is the roo for my whole flock which includes LF. I bet your little guy will be perfectly happy regardless the size of his girls =) He may even mate! I know Toy mates with even the biggest lady! Although he doesn't actually make "contact" haha poor cute little guy!
