It could have been in hiding for a few days like ladycat's.Maybe? I dont know anyone around here that has any but i guess it could of traveled a ways. It was the same kind i had that froze about 4 days ago but it wasnt stiff. did have a couple bare spots on it though.
I was thinking maybe when the other died it got scared and lonely and maybe hid.you think it wasnt dead when i had my grandson put them over the hill. that would be terrible. It got really cold last night.
