American serama thread!

Thanks so much! Can you post pictures of your birds? Do you mind if we swap around the beginning of December?

Sure. I'll post some pics soon. I may not be able to for a couple days. December should be fine if enough are laying.

Oh wow! That's awesome! Thanks! I have been putting off a name until I could have a better idea. Yeah, the little comb is still very yellow but I was willing to keep either sex. They're just so cute!

Ok, here's the pics! These were the ones that hatched Sept 25th and as you can see, it looks pretty clear who's going to be doing the cockadoodledoo-dooing around here! 6 ladies and one gentleman... Lucky boy. Lol

I was wondering if I could get some advice on what I believe are seramas. First, i have fallen In love! Awhile ago I incubated some standard eggs and got two extra seramas eggs from the company. They were smaller then my banties eggs!! Both hatched. The smallest one first, who is definitely a cockerel! The other made it and I got a pullet yeah! i was wondering about the quality of these birds? I have no expectations! I'm perfectly fine with a pet chicken. Plus they are darling! Can I breed these two? Do they lay many eggs? I really have some reasearch to do! I was also wondering what coloring they would be considered? Any help would be great!

Peanut the hen has pretty grey and white feathers and brown and white.
Thanks again.
Edited : they are 6 weeks 2 days.
Does anyone know a good book about seramas ? I definitely need some tips, advice on how to care for them! I have banties already but these guys are tiny! I'm making the bantam coop bigger with more perches. I figured they are pretty flighty. How long Intel a hen starts to lay? Same as standards? What color would these guys be considered? Questions along those lines. If anyone has any input I would love to hear?! My other banties are a Mike Fluer D'uccke and a frazzle yes frazzle

Cochin. Poor baby has lost most of her plumage.
