. I'm wondering if I need to take the eggs and incubate them? I bought a nice black pair but she stopped laying due to the move. I'm glad yours are laying well!

I brought all 5 of my hen's nesting boxes inside.
They aren't any trouble at all. They come out once a day to poop on the tile floor.
Fluff hatched her first clutch of 4 chicks 3 days ago. I keep them all in the brooder.
I thought abt that but was concerned that she might leave the nest if I move her but I can incubate them if she does. I think I will do that today. 85 degrees everyday until she finally goes broody, then winter hits. Just my luck. Thanks so much

Debbie

Seramas have been bred to keep there small size and some are too small to reproduce. The best quality serama is usually not the best breeder. Cocks and hens can have periods of infertility.

So far I haven't experienced that yet, but my smallest hens are 10-11 ounces. I do have a young pullet I think will be smaller; hopefully I will luck out. Thank you for your reply.

I was curious what you guys think about these two hatch mates? They are my first pair. They are both super sweet! What is there coloring considered? And does she look to long?

they are almost 17 weeks. Can I breed them with each other ? Will I get different looking seramas ? When do they start to lay? Her face is getting ready red and she's wanting to lay on the floor more then perch lately. Any help would be great ! Thank you!

they are almost 17 weeks. Most of my pullets this year were laying at 17 weeks or close to laying. Can I breed them with each other ? Will I get different looking serums Unless you know the background of your birds, their offspring could look very different.? When do they start to lay? Of the seven serama pullets I had this year one started to lay at three months, one was killed by a mink, four started to lay between 16 and 20 weeks, and one was 6 or 7 months old. Her face is getting ready red and she's wanting to lay on the floor more then perch lately. Any help would be great ! Thank you!
