Rather curious. Do you know if serama will brood an empty nest; something I have not seen/tried. I have noticed that if I collect all eggs, so the nests are empty, the hens immediately look for and find a new nest. Each time eggs are collected a new nest is used for the next egg.
Yeah, local is the best way to go.

When I get home I will take some pictures, or my wife will. Right now the hen and chicks are in a huge plastic container on the dining room table.
