Tribble eggs on the way. Please, God, don't let them be ruined in transit.
I want to get one or two Tribble eggs after these I have cooking are done!![]()
If you got them from Ra (who else?) his new shipping method did really well with mine. Just be sure to let them sit before beginning incubation. You probably know, but it's a lifesaver...literally!
2 weeks ago I gave Gyda some eggs that I had tried refrigerating along with some eggs that got stained with dirt from being laid in the nighttime security nests. Gyda is in a trio with young Deanna and Deanna joined Gyda in the nesting box last week.
One or both of them has also been laying additional eggs in the box.
I had the original eggs marked and I've been discarding the new eggs since I couldn't figure out what to do with them since they'd been heated up and I assume had begun growing? I hate doing that.
When you have a trio, do you move the nesting box to an isolated location when one of them starts setting?
Speaking of eggs from Ra, I've got 8 rapidly approaching hatch! 2 clears, 2 quitters, the rest have 3 days left 'til day 21. I know a lot of people hatch their Serama on day 18, but I get a mixed bag. No pips yet but I'm watchin' for 'em, just candled them last night and they were alive for sure.
We've already got 10 serama babies growing out. That and one of my broodies has a nest hatching as I type this.. and another two are about a week and a half in to incubating their nests.. and I have more eggs to set once the incubator empties... and we're getting ducklings next week. I have a billion brooders running at once! Spring has truly sprung

Definately not Spaz's best pose, but all she would hold still for!
Yes. I asked about his shipping method and am quite hopeful. In the past, those eggs that came wrapped in bubble wrap did better than those that weren't. I believe that is because the eggs can move a bit with the jolts and that the bubble wrap acts like shock absorbers. When eggs are packed tight each shock effects them. Rather like air bags in a car as opposed to not. I'm a bit worried in that UPS tracking still shows the eggs in Florida, but are in transit. No updating on the tracking since Tuesday.
