American serama thread!

Question! I've been looking around at a lot of pictures of Seramas and would love to have a serama flock of my own but I'm still learning about the breed. I checked out eBay and noticed lots of them have Seramas with pointy breasts. Not beautifully rounded like ive seen but some of the ones on eBay have Seramas with breast bones that jut out and back in at a sharp angle. Is this normal? It's certainly undesirable to me but what do I know? I like the full rounded chest instead.

Could it have maybe been the angle of the photo? Or sometimes when they stand really erect, they may appear pointy? Just guessing. I dont really know.

Here are my 2 young cockerels. I think they are filling out nicely.

Yours look great! I guess it could be the angle or something. In the listing they show lots of pics of their flock and not all have what I mentally refer to as 'the deformity'. Here's some examples.

I see what you mean. I think its when they stand up tall, their tails look the best for pics, but the chest juts out kinda funky. I'll have to see if mine ever look like that. (I hope not lol)

They appear to have full crops. That's why you don't let them eat much the day of a show.

Duh! That makes sense. Glad an experienced person pointed that out. Thanks a bunch!

In my experience most serama hatch day 19-20. 22 days qualifies as overdue. If there is no external pip there is no harm in candling.

Looks like it quit some time ago. Small blob with no movement

no baby for Maria. So sad!

One of our other hens seems to have gone broody, what is everyone's opinion on letting Seramas brood when fall is around the corner? We live in Washington state.
