American serama thread!

Merry Christmas. Here are some holiday pics:

Nativity scenes are always more fun with live animals. Here are the kids playing with their "Little PEEP'LE"

Instead of a partridge or 3 French Hens, we had a Serama in a pine tree:

and here's DS with with the big Christmas gift. (DH is in IT, so he brought home & fixed up a new (to us) computer for the kids.)

Adorable! I love them. :love

Dang. Sorry you had a rough year :hugs
Yes-a bad year. Too much rain-Too much heat-Too many dogs-Just too much of everything. I'm down to 2 roosters and 5 hens with the serama. I brought my latest broody hen into the house to hatch her eggs in the bathtub just so nothing can disturb her. Even so three of her eggs candled dis leaving 5 to develop; I hope.

My serama girls are broody machines. But I did lose a few chicks this year, failed to thrive, or whatever. I have a young pullet that started sitting last week. I haven’t even checked eggs under her yet. It’s been cold and rainy here a lot, and will only get colder, so I will probably try to break her.

I hope your Christmas was a good one!! And that the year went well for you. Bad year for my serama-lots of horrid luck. I found my last tribble dead on her nest. Ra-Do you still sell hatching eggs?

Sorry, no. Nobody is laying now and I also bought an Incuview incubator, so I will be trying to hatch them myself, when they start laying again.

This year's Tribbles are so tiny, I think they may be going extinct?

Your Tribbles are adorable! I hope you can keep them going.

My chicks turned 4 weeks old yesterday. I gave the male serama & the silkiexserama mix to a friend, so I have 3 chick remaining. So far, I see more female traits than male traits and am optimistic that all 3 may be female.

Please click to enlarge the pics & let me know your gender guesses.

Blue English Orpington (Definitely in the ugly awkward stage) Kind of "leggy" like a male, but comb & wattles look female to me.

serama: "Chipmunk"
Comb is pale & small like a female. Wattles look rather red (male?) but are not dropping (female?)

serama: "White"
It's feathering in tan with bits of white & misty gray. Pale small comb & no wattles dropping = female. However like the other serama, those wattles look pinkish to me. It's my fav, so that's often a sign that's it's male. LOL
