American serama thread!

I would have to agree with you cara . meeting joey saved me years of time and his serama info is endless i would say he is my mentor and i listen to what he has to say . when i went to see him i had all these ideas of what i wanted to breed but joey told me how to go about it and by the time i left and was on my way home all my thoughts had changed and when i got home i put almost all my birds up for sale . now its time to rebuild and i'm takeing my time joey gave me little B as my fountations bird for type and now i am headed in the right direction .

Ray I think that happened to all of US. I used to surf Craigslist and thought i hit gold with every SQ serama I found!! I even bought a modern game that was broody and sitting on eggs beause i was told she was a serama, when she stood up I just about died!!!! Wiped my board clean spent Huge $ with one of the best a did a complete re start in my game. You breed the best you can get and the quality of what you produce will be outstanding, you breed long back huge squirel tail etc you are going to get chicks like the parents. Man you are on the right track. Glad that you were able to speak to joey, I honestly think he is the BEST person to represent this breed!! I tell everyone I meet in the serama world, we all pay our dues with the serama, we start out the hard way and it either breaks us or gives us the drive to make it better!!
GOod luck to all in there serama adventure, Patients they will humble you at first, stick with it and you will succeed!!

Hey SUe, Last night Taylor went to Chiali, Jessica and taylor for care. I am leaving mid week for a fam get together and he still needs TLC Lots of it. HE is for sure a sad sight. If chaili wishes she can post photos but he loos just so yuck right now. It is just his head and comb area, the rest of him is Ok and he is perkey and enjoying being spoiled byt the two greatest girls ever, and their wonderful mom. I would be really nervous about going if I did not have him cared for!! I guess he slept on his favorite blanket last night and had his first sit down in front of TV night, Chaili said he loved it!! Thanks for asking. Sure you dont have any rejects eiter, they are all so special!! that is why i think i am sooo picky about what birds i actually breed,!!!

Well, you will come home to one heck of a spoiled roo, he might just tell you to leave me here, I got me two NEW girls!

You have fun in Reno.

I am afraid to breed because then I will have to make a decsion somewhere down the road keep or go. And I can't even do that with the ones I should let go. But personally I prefer to take in the lame and handicapped. They are more special to me than the most expensive SQ bird out there....

So true sue, those are the very special ones. It is up to us as a human to do what is nessisary, an agg is an egg until we decide to hatch it, It is only a few people who have taken the time to develope a relationship and to see just how comopplex and that they are little personalities and feelings in a feather suit. Not just a chicken, or animal but a living breatheing BEING. Thanks Sue for being an excellent chicken mom and friend to those who some over overlooked, glad they found you!!
