progress report........1 hatched another 2 almost and several other pipped and I can't believe I have to leave the house to go to a horse sale and dinner. someone is here watching them hatch. It is pretty small in that Brinsea mini advance but I guess they climb over the other eggs. The little dark one that hatched does not stop squawking! Can't wait till he or she gets a buddy!

OK so the good news is that I have 8 chicks comfirmed pipping!!!

THe bad news is that I am leaving on vacation tomorrow at 3 am and wont be home until monday late!!! I was expecting them to be hatching monday and secretly planned my vacation around my chicks hatching. I need to go re take math!! Kida freaked out and hope they will be OK. Put another hen momma hen in with the hatching mom in hope that if we have any chicks that decide to leave the nest early they will have another mom to hide under, have a friend checking water and feeding the mommas, in their home location once a day! LOVE THE TIMING!!!

Last weekend I was in CA at my high school reunion and returned home to VA just in time to see
a day-old baby Serama alive and well underneath my broody Silkie!

Well, I got home and I have a total of 3 hatched and in the brooder. I have 8 more, most of which are pipping but not zipping yet.

I recently lost my one and only Serama hen, and this baby is all I have to remind me of her.

My rooster misses her, too, and he's all alone in his pen. I need another hen to replace my little precious one.

just got home from an EXTREMELY long day.....and was hearing peeping from the bator.....nothing has pipped yet but i got 2 eggs talking to each other about god knows what LOL..... anyhow candled them both and car see their beaks in the air sac and moving around.....IM EXCITED!!!! i hope the good lord blesses me with 2 more of gabbies little ones......they would be younger full siblings to the yellow one that hatched last week

OMG, LONG day here too, work, soccer, 4H, I'm too tired to sleep. Just hanging out with ole' Taylor tonight. What a great bird he is. I think Cara will be surprised at his improvement when she gets back to town. Of course he will be demanding to sleep inside the house, and will need his cozy blanket..... He was checking out the chicken pics with me tonight in front of the monitor. Lets just say he has his favorites.
