American serama thread!

Hello Everyone, new to this thread! I am getting a dozen serama hatching eggs next week and just wanted any tips from yall concerning the incubation and care of these little guys. I have had orpingtons with pretty good success, are these gonna be about the same or are there differences because of the small size, are they more like hatching out quail maybe? Also, once they hatch do they need different care than normal LF chickens? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance!
Lisa

I incubate mine at 99.5 and at 40 to 50 temp. Stop turning on day 17 and they hatch on day 19 Sometimes a little early. special care I grind up game chick start for the first month. then mix half and half. change feed and water twice daily and def keep brooder clean. They have a high fatality rate. But once they get a little age they are fine. you will love serama's. Welcome to the world of serama's

Welcome! I had such a hard time hatching serama eggs at first and now I toss them under a broody and hatch every one or I pop em in the bator and dont touch them and they seem to hatch at around 92% for me here without special care. Good luck!

Thanks! Do I need to up my humidity still at lockdown, I'm assuming yes, but is it about the same as LF? So you get game chick starter instead of regular chick starter? Is that usually still available at the feed stores?

Thanks! I've had some good hatch rates with my orpingtons and I usually just leave them alone in the incubator, I'm not the type to open the bator much, I usually just candle them once and then I don't open it except to add water and so far I've had a 90+% hatch rate, so I am really hoping I will get the same results with these guys!!!
