I appreciate that they eat the rats, but they also enjoy BIRDS and EGGS!!
Not to mention critters are not allowed to live in the chimney!

No worries. My birds are all safe and that snake won't be eating anything anymore! Just wasn't as easy as I had imagined.

COMPARED TO ME YOU HAVE A TON OF SPACE.....I HAVE 25' X 60' OF BACKYARD TO WORK WITH. Very restricting....sorry to hear your gremlins have problems getting along.....you did a good job being able to get em' all out and not kill each other...

It's finally going to start cooling down but not before it topped at 113 degrees here one afternoon. I had fans, shadecloth, fresh water a few times a day and they were all doing great. No panting or looking stressed and they were still laying. The super hot day was too much I guess. I lost my little Dovey and her beau Roger (one of the silkied Serama I got from June in Oklahoma) and Truffles. I am totally sick over the loss and hoping so much that the eggs left behind by Truffles and Dovey hatch (she laid her first 3 eggs in 2 yrs when it got so hot). The were perky and didn't seem stressed at all but that extra increase was too much.

I have 3 Dovey eggs in the incubator and several of Truffles eggs. Thankfully, I have 3 and probably more chocolate chicks out of Truffles. It was a huge blow for my project but thankfully, she left me with some very nice chicks that are thriving. Since T-Roo has to be a chocolate carrier, I have him with Bugsy now so I should see more chocolate, maybe more solid chocolate, since she's coal black.

I hope everyone else has survived this heat wave with less trouble. My chicks are thriving and I have lots of hope for next spring but heartsick to lose my babies.

Smoothmule-that is aweful. I am so sorry for your lose.

aarron-Awesome set up! I am jealous

Bobbby- do you leave your egg turn in when they hatch. Just wondering because I always stress out so bad when I am taking it out!
