Between what ages would I be able to house on 1/2 X 1/2 wire? Chicks would probably spend the first week inside anyways. I originally planned on putting chicks in these coops.

BUT After about 20 minutes the shavings are disgusting. Well maybe not exactly 20 minutes but it sure seems like it! I usually change shavings for the adults once or twice a week. Plus all the chicks do is kick up shavings in their feeders. Boy they sure are a hand full.

Thought I would also post a picture of 32 serama eggs that I put in the bator 3 days ago! The eggs are so tiny. I could probably fit almost 50 in my brinsea. Thanks again Jerry for the eggs!

how big is each pen? how deep, tall and wide? I want to make some big enough for 3 birds per cage.

Each pen is 3ft by 2ft and 2 ft tall. They could probably fit a trio but I will probably stick to pairs.

do they stay somewhat warm? no drafts with just wire front? Im in Washington and its been 27 to 34 lately and just to clod for the birds with out lights. These might work in the bird barn on a wall. Thanks!

I would put them in those cages you built they are perfect thats how mine are and they are fine i just put the food and water up on a block of wood so they don't get it dirty . and as far as age on the wire i have raised chicks on wire all the way up untill they are a few years old
