I like those! I might have to steal that idea if you don't mind, I like those alot. Especially for indoors. Outside I like the wire doors, but for inside that would be a great idea.

Thanks, the measurements are 30" X 36" X 30". I built the cage on wheels so I can roll it in and out for clean up or give the birds some time in the sun. It was originally design to reduce the noise to keep my neighbors happy.

I use the reptile sand strainer to clean up the sand every day.

Thanks for the measurements! I've been trying to get some new ideas for housing my birds and I really like those. The sand filter is a good idea, I was wondering how you would clean that. I was also worried about the noise with my neighbors, so I think that would be a really good idea.

Just a reminder to all who are enterining, birds will be inspected for any illness, and or paracites upon arrival. We know that all who are entering will understand. Birds who are found to have bugs on them and or be ill will be a DQ..

Please also be aware that we have a 50% chance of no rain for the show, please dress warm and if possible bring an easy up, and or some extra tarps.

If you use playsand, the trays got to be at least 6" deep.....even at 6" deep, they still kick the sands all over when they bath. I find the sand help keep their wing tips from breaking off when they strutt.

Few pics of my sandbox cages

Love the cages and the water/feeder idea! I just switched all mine to rodent water bottles. I cannot believe I didn't do it sooner! I'm looking for better feeder ideas now. Do you find they make less of a mess with those? I have the hanging ones and they take up so much room in the cages and they tend to dig out the food constantly.

I like them to, if you guys find feeders where they don't waste 50% of it let me know, I can't believe how much food they waste.

I've been taking the food thing out when they spill alot on the floor and make them eat that. lol I have the floors lined with a plastic matting, for easy clean up.

Here's a pic with an angled view, a door open and one of the divider panels pulled partially out. I just happened to have that picture loaded on BYC. I haven't taken any pics since I moved it to the barn.

You can see behind the door that is open there is a board there to keep the shavings back away from the door. It is cleverly hinged on one end to flip up for easy cleanout of the pen. HOWEVER, I wish I had made it a little bigger. They still manage to throw shavings over it and onto the door, so that when you open the door some of the shavings fall out. So if you do something like this, use a little taller "threshold!"

I use the empty juice bottle to make my waterer/feederer, you need to use a rope or rubberband to bind the 2 together other wise they will knock them over. In the grow out pen I bought the plastic gridpot from Jedds, both will keep your birds from soiling of food from the bowl.

waterer/feeder made from recycle bottle, they are free and they work fine for me.
