Wow! Beautiful roo! Looking at the picture, I would have guessed him to be a wheaten. Is he cocopop because his black feathers are browning rather than black? I have so much to learn about these little guys.
 
You know, I'm no expert on this. The breeder identified him as cocopop, but I can't tell you why. I have the "Colors of Serama" book, but it's not clear to me even then.

Here is an example of what I think of as cocopop.

The origional captain cocopop!! This is the bird that created a huge stir in the color serama world, from this there are many variations and versions, but the cocopop should have a silver hackle and saddle. BTW I love the chock colored body on the bird a few posts up, I think his owner calls him Brutis!! WOWZERS!!

I honestly could not tell you what color is chick down was!! He i believe was bred my Jerry and then went to Grady taylor in FLorida!! JP1 could probably tell you a close down color, he is getting some fantastic doubble laced and laced brown cocopops consistantly!!
