American serama thread!

I just want to jump in and wish everyone Happy Holidays!! Just in case it gets crazy around here and I don't get a chance.
And I would also like to say how warm and friendly the Serama people are. I've contacted several of you privately in regards to birds, and everyone has been so nice! After the first of the year, when I get some new birds, and my hatching eggs, I'll post some pics!!

I have not seen that word since EMS training! I thought they just made it up so that we could sound cooler in our report to the ER docs when we wheeled the patient in. Now that I know that it has use out in the would, I don't know if I'm happy that there was a good reason to learn it, or sad that I can't make fun of the medical industry so much for making up words to separate them from the layman....

Does any one have any 2011 leg bands or any 2012. I would like to buy about 15 bands for 2011 and probably about 30 for 2012. Please just PM me if you have any. Thanks

Even earwigs?? And maggots? Eek!! They creep me out. Wiggly leg bugs creep me out the most though. I wish I could find something about those critters to love. I just moved across the state to Bug Country - the crickets are so big here you could strap a saddle on 'em and ride them around. And there are these flying stinger bug things everywhere... And five inch beetles with long feeler thingies. They land on my bathroom window and look in on me. EW. Did I mention the giant green horned worm things? UGH.

There are bugs around here that I wouldn't DREAM of feeding my chickies... 'cause who knows what they are. I might have to invest in an Audoban society's bug book so I can conquer some fears here.

Teehee! I could NEVER deny my chickies mealworms! I just HATE HATE HATE touching them and I've been trying freeze dried.

I dislike the quiet "scuttle scuttle scuttle" noises the mealworms make in those styrofoam containers - EW. Do not ever visit the Selkirk mountains in Washington if you do not like bugs... 'cause it's like Bug Mountain here. Yu-uck! I told myself I would never go to Florida 'cause of the bugs but I didn't imagine what I would find out here in the wild. There are like a million spiders on my back porch that have crawled up from underneath the porch in the snow and they spontaneously combust and leave this sticky orange goo everywhere...

For absolutely no reason other than to freak me out, I think.
