American serama thread!

Bheps Serama's ------ Even after the PO played football and kick ball with those eggs....
Harmony has 5 viable from them!! Its day 16 today!! I lock down on day 18 right???

No problem- just nice knowing folks that feel the way i do about my birds- a friend offered me eggs from joes line, so that will be nice- he and josie never managed to hatch any- these are the pair the eggs will come from when they start laying again-

Thats so sweet they are so cute. You just want to cuddlethem. She is sweet to hopefully get you some of their eggs.

I candled the eggs again this morning, it seems i have 7 out of 11 that are developing....the last two eggs that i put in on 12-1...which i found on the ground in the coop and not in the nest boxes...are both bad...i assume they were contaminated from laying in the dirt? I am going to leave them for a couple more days to be sure...I wont complain about 7 good eggs...its a start!

Yeah the eggs I set are some I ordered from MI and I hope they hatch. They are frizzle smooth and silkie Seramaeggs A and B size so I guess its a big gamble.

Hi you all--this is my first time to post on this thread.  I'm from just north of Chattanooga, TN.  I've been into seramas for about 2 years.  This past summer I dropped one of the eggs when I was checking under the hen and cracked it.  It was about half way thru incubation and I knew I would lose it if I didn't do something.  So I spread a thin layer of super glue just over the crack and put it back under the hen as soon as it dried.  It hatched!-and I named him Miracle.

Alexandra in Meigs Co--do you ever go to any of the shows?  There is one in Sparta on 12-15-12 and I've been told there will be serama tabletop judging.  It's about 2 hours from me and I'm trying to decide whether to go or not.

:welcome chicklittel from sunny southern CA. GO to the show, you will not regret it, chicken shows are SO MUCH FUN and you meet some of the nicest people alive at chicken shows!
But DO BRING A BOX, because there is always a sale area...and you never know what you might fall in love with when you are there.........:thumbsup :yesss:
