My Serama chick needs help please...

He/She turned 1 month old yesterday. Today he/she is chirping loudly & can only walk backwards in a circle. It's also making little jerking movements with her head.

I have no idea what is wrong or what to do.

I had this once...used the poly-vi-sol. It worked for me. Did they mention the one with NO IRON
Good luck

Big day today.I am setting 5 Serama eggs.....have not hatched any for over a year............
I will post pics of parents later today...........
I am really looking forward to this hatch....have lots of time now to concentrate on just Serama.
Also setting a few English Orps to test out my this years pullets..............

I'm giving her Pol-Vi-Sol, probiotics, electrolytes, & Vit E w/Selenium.

She is way worse today than yesterday.

All she does is flap one wing to try to get away from me. Yesterday she could walk, today she can't. She won't open her eyes anymore, her left leg is cold, & she isn't putting up much of a fight.

How do I feed her without it going into her lungs? I'm not having any luck because every time I put anything in her mouth she starts breathing funny.

How do I humanely put her out of her misery if it comes to that? If she doesn't eat soon, I'm afraid she's gonna die.

All I can say is how sorry I am...........
As far as putting her down.............passing on her own may be the easiest for both of you.
If she is not in pain you may just have to keep her warm and wait.

I use an eye dropper.....drop liquid ( a drop or two at a time) on the side of the beak and wait for them to swallow.
Hope someone else has more ideas.................

Thanks so much.

I found a tube feeding tutorial on BYC so I was able to fill her crop with liquid food like the tutorial said. At least I'm doing all I can to give her a chance. I hope she responds soon.

I've named her Penelope.

I wish you and Penelope the best.
