Yeah your girls should be fine, and a hen per box is ideal, but sometimes they just dont want it that way hahaha.Thank you Kangchang and Cynthia. I'm not sure if the egg break was an accident but I saw her eating the shell. I was thinking maybe she was lacking or craving calcium? I'm going to give the girls a couple more days and if I don't find them sitting I'm just going to go ahead and incubate. Maybe they just aren't ready? They sure are laying a lot though! Is it uncommon for one to lay 2 eggs in a day? And should I have each of them a nest box? I took Katie's out because she just kept making a new nest to lay an egg or 3. Just want to make sure I'm doing everything right![]()
HI and Welcome.................I just aquired a pair of frizzle saramas. I feel in love with the personalities!! I'm very new to this breed and want to learn more, and to also find more breeding stock. I live in Vermont, which is very cold in winter, but I have a insulated, and heated barn. The ones I have are doing very well. I will be looking for breeding stock in the future......is there anyone out there that will have some available?
Yes they are Thanks for posting them.........
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
